Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting. Before their start on the character with the Winter Soldier storyline, I really didn't care about the character. He was just a Boy Scout with a shield. This (and subsequent) story made him a person.

    Brubaker and Epting

Death of captain America is one of my all time favorite marvel story arcs. I was mostly a dc fan and had never even read any cap. Now, any Brubaker cap story I read is in my top favorite list.
  • gpadav
Brubaker and Epting; for they turned it into the success it is today.
  • chromiumman  - gruenwald
i'll go old-school and mention mark gruenwald, mostly for his 'cap no more' storyline, and the creation of crossbones
  • penemio  - Penemio
I would have to go with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby because of the twist at the end of Captain America as the villain
  • blops  - Brubaker/Epting
    Winter Soldier storyline
  • ropo21
Ed Brubaker paired with artist Steve Epting is my favorite. I loved the introduction of new villains and the resurrection of the long dead character Bucky as "The Winter Soldier".
  • Joe_Kach  - Nice, nice
Great answers so far! The Brubaker/Epting run seems to be leading the trend, & I'm definitely part of that group.

That being said, I am a huge Cap fan, & have issue #101 by Stan & Jack framed on our Office Wall & the Grunewald run on the title holds a special place in my heart.

    Keep 'em coming!

  • ucancmeto  - The Brubaker/Epting
    The Brubaker/Epting
  • NotEd3k  - Nope.
I don't really have a set to contribute, as I was always more an X-Men reader when I still regularly bought books.
  • Joe_Kach  - X-Men?
Hey, NotEd3k: What are X-Men titles are you reading right now? What did you think of AvX?

  • jb10000lakes
    Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting; There's just something about the style that appeals to me;
  • lasvegasjedi  - cool
this is very cool love it
  • SexyBrat
I like Simon and Kirby as a team.
  • rajee
Brubaker and Epting are cool team
  • MightyVille  - We have a WINNAH!
A big Super Soldier Thumbs-Up to chromiumman, winner of our Captain America Giveaway! Your prize is on the way, sir!
